Gift of Love from Kuwait |
Following MYP guidelines for Service as Action, on Thursday 7th March after school some of our wonderful grade 6 students went to the Direct Aid Society with their parents, under the supervision of Mr. Omar and Ms. Sara, as part of their project "Gift of Love from Kuwait." The idea of the project is that students will buy various gifts to send them to orphans in Africa. It was an amazing job, the students were very excited. Thank you wonderful students! |

For Love of the Arabic Language |
On Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 an event was organized by the Arabic Department under the title “For Love of the Arabic Language”. The event was attended by Ms Maha Almajidi, the Arabic language supervisor. A large group of students from grades 1 to 12 participated and showed their creativity by delivering a variety of poems and literary work from different movements and poetic genres. There was a variety of performances, including acting and reciting poetry in which our students showed exceptional talent. The parents in the audience showed their excitement and approval. International Teachers' Day Celebrations |
In the context of our interest in global events and in an atmosphere of appreciation and gratitude, our school celebrated International Teachers' Day on Thursday, October 4th
Students, parents and teachers took an active part in the celebrations.
Our students presented many items on stage under the supervision of the Arabic Social Studies Department that showed the teacher's role in the development of rising nations.

Quran memorization competition |
The Department of Islamic Education at the Kuwait Bilingual School held a ceremony to honour the outstanding students in the annual Quran memorization competition. The ceremony included a dramatic work by some of third-grade students and the distribution of prizes to the winners by the school administration. Reports and Parent Conferences |
Sunday April 8th 2018 Reports and Parent Conferences Dear Parents, It is hard to believe that Quarter Three is already over and we are fast approaching the end of another school year! This week, we will be issuing Q3 report cards for middle and high school and progress reports for grades Pre-K to 5. We will also be holding the final parent conferences of this academic year. Reports will be issued on Wednesday April 11th. Parent Conferences will follow from 3pm to 5pm on the same day and also on Thursday April 12th from 8am to 1-30pm. The last appointment will therefore be at 1-15pm. Please note that parents are not permitted to attend parent conferences or receive report cards unless all outstanding fees have been paid. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. I hope that you will all be able to attend to discuss your child’s progress with his / her teachers. Your children are welcome to attend the conferences with you, but please note that they must stay with you, as they are not allowed to be on campus without supervision. There will be no school on Thursday 12th due to the conferences. There are many exciting events on the calendar for April, so please mark the dates below in your diaries! These events are even more successful when parents and school work together to build community. The school will be closed for Spring Break from Sunday April 15th to Thursday April 19th. School Book Fair |
The second annual school book fair is from Sunday, April 8 till Thursday, April 12. Students can visit the book fair, in the basement KG gym, 2 times, in their Arabic and English library periods. Students can also visit the fair with their parents from 7.30 am till 3 pm. Aafaq Books is holding the fair. |

The Arabic language department at our school accomplished a remarkable achievement this year. Ahmed Abdullah Alkamali from grade 9 won first place in the Arab Poetry Competition under the guidance of Arabic language department. Pajama Day |
All KG1 students were invited to wear their favorite pajamas on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Students brought their pillows, quilts and stuffed animals to snuggle with. They spent their time reading their favorite stories and they watched some educational movies. They really enjoyed this fun day. continue... |
National and Liberation Day celebrations |
- Included in the presentation were passages of poetry in Arabic and English, as well as a special section about the rulers of Kuwait and their historical role in the progress and welfare of Kuwait. - The presentation also included a few educational videos about Kuwait, its historical development, its humanitarian role internationally, and featured a selection of traditional and modern national songs. Mercy for Humanity |
For the Third consecutive year under the logo of" Mercy for Humanity" the Islamic Dept. organised the winter humanitarian effort.Volunteer students from the primary department participated in bringing joy and happiness to the KBS domestics and workers by giving them about 50 winter presents and also sweets.This effort drew smiles on their faces and made them happy and thankful. "In this let the Competitors compete...." In an atmosphere of the sound of prays calls, Grandsons of the companions chanted and called (Allah Akbar) and broke the silence of Jahra. Jobs Day |
KG1 celebrated Jobs Day on December 7th, 2017. Teachers invited some parents as guest speakers to talk about their professions, roles, and responsibilities. Students dressed up in their favorite jobs costumes. There was also a small presentation in the school playground where students celebrated this day by singing in Arabic and English. Everyone enjoyed seeing our students singing very well and with great confidence. Within the framework of our school's caring about local events and in cooperation with the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, the Arabic Social Studies Department hosted Major Nasser Al-Zaher from Kuwait Fire Service Directorate on Thursday, November 9th. They presented an interactive workshop for Middle school students which described the efforts faced in the extinguishing the Oil Well Fires in Kuwait In 1991 and the efforts of firefighters in facing fires and their prevention. Pre-KG Students, parents and teachers celebrated “COSTUME DAY” on November 9th, 2017, which is related to their first unit “HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES.” It was great to see the children express themselves through music, movement and costumes. November 8th 2017 Letter to Parents re Mid Term Break Dear parents, First of all I would like to thank all of those parents who took time out of their busy schedules to come to school last week to conference with teachers. It is important for us to have the opportunity to discuss your children’s progress and that home and school work together in partnership. Please note that school will be closed on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th November for the mid term break. We hope that you will be able to get out and about together and enjoy the cooler weather. Finally, when the weather cools down, it is often the season of colds and flu. Please DO NOT send you child to school if they have a fever or any flu-like symptoms, as we want to avoid the unnecessary spread of infection. Your cooperation is highly appreciated. On November 7th, 2017, Grade 4 students went on a trip to Kidzania to explore different jobs and services around them. Students engaged directly in play-based learning to discover a variety of services and how they affect the society’s economy. KBS Book Fair |

KBS book fair is from Sunday, November 5th till Thursday Nov 9th, from 7am to 3pm in the KG gym (basement). Classes will visit the fair in their library slots. Parents are welcome to visit the fair. There will be Arabic and English books for all levels. KBS 1 will have the book fair on Wednesday, Nov 8. |
